Hello. I want to buy a new television, but I know nothing about the different types of TV available. Is it ok to ask you some questions?

Great. What kinds of TV do you offer?
As you can see, we have a very wide range of TVs. We have plasma screen TVs, and LCD TVs. These are both flat-screen TVs, and the main difference is the size. Plasma screen TVs are much bigger, and are also much more expensive. Or you can buy a direct-view TV. This is one of the most common types, and produces a very good-quality image.
I see. Which are the most reliable manufacturers?
Sony is a very popular brand, because they make good TVs. Panasonic is also a good make. We offer a guarantee on all of the TVs that we sell, so if you have a problem, you can bring it back.
I don’t want to spend too much on a TV. Can you tell me a little bit about the cost?
Sure. The most expensive TV is a plasma screen, because it is so much bigger, and it has a very good picture. The cheapest is the direct-view screen. We sell these for about seventy pounds.
What’s the difference in quality?
LCD and plasma screens use a more advanced technology, but it depends what you want. Most people are very happy with the direct-view TV.
Which do you think is better – LCD or plasma?
Definitely plasma. But it’s very expensive. If you buy the biggest plasma screen, it’s like having your own cinema. The quality is very good indeed.
Do you have any models with integrated devices?
What do you mean exactly? Like a video player? Yes, we have some of those – the quality is not as good, but they are good TVs. We also have sets, which have an in-built karaoke machine. These have been very popular.
I see. Do you sell the TVs in different colours?
There’s not a wide range of colours. Most of the TVs are grey, as you can see. We do have a few black TVs.
I have always wanted a really large TV. What different sizes do you have?
Well, the smallest TV probably won’t interest you then. The direct-view TVs range between nine inches and 40 inches. The LCD TVs range from 13 inches to 43 inches. The plasma screens, which are the biggest of all, range from 32 inches to 63 inches. The largest screen available is about 100 inches, but it is very expensive.
Well, it’s all very interesting. Can you deliver the TV to my home?
Of course. We have a daily delivery service. If we are not busy, we can deliver the TV to your home the next day if you live within fifty miles. Otherwise, we will make an appointment with you for later in the week. The cost of the delivery depends on the distance.
