I want to go on holiday this year, but I cannot decide where to go. I heard you are going on holiday soon. When are you going?
I’m leaving next week on Monday. I have only four more days of work left, but I still have lots to do before I go. I have not started to pack yet. I am going for three weeks.
You are so lucky. Where are you going?
I am very excited, because this year I am going to India. I will visit the capital, Delhi, and then I will travel to Rajastan, which is in the west of India.
Oh, that sounds lovely. How will you get there? Is it far away?
Of course, it is very far away from here. I will fly by plane. It is a seven hour flight. I enjoy flying so I am also looking forward to the flight. When I arrive in Delhi, I will take a taxi to my hotel.
Are you going on your own?
Yes, sadly. Nobody wanted to go to India with me. I do not understand it because I have heard it is a beautiful country, and it is very warm at this time of year. But I enjoy travelling on my own, although I would prefer to have a companion. I hope I will meet lots of people in India. Then I will not be lonely.
What will you take with you?
I am going to take lots of books with me, because I love reading on holiday. I will also take a hat to protect my head from the sun, and I will take lots of sun cream. I burn easily in the sun. Otherwise, I think I can buy most things there if I need anything else.
What will you do?
I have lots of plans. There is a large desert in Rajastan. It is possible to ride camels and sleep overnight in the desert. There are also lots of beautiful palaces. I also plan to ride horses, and to visit the desert nomads. I will also visit lots of local restaurants. I like Indian food a lot, although it is very spicy.
How wonderful! Will you buy some souvenirs?
Of course. I heard there are lots of wonderful things to buy. India is very famous for its silk. Perhaps I will buy some silk scarves and some silk ties. The local people also make some very nice wooden carvings. I will also buy some of those, I think.
You will need some money. How much are you going to take?
I think I will not need very much money. Everything is very cheap in India. I will take about three hundred pounds to spend on pleasure, and I will pay for my hotel with a credit card.
