“Fuckers Come to Collect” is the moment that Scraps of Tape announced themselves onto the instrumental music scene, showcasing all of their talents in a microcosm. Beginning with a flurry of feedback, the tracks melts effortlessly into different time structures and genres, moving from math-rock freneticisms to post-hardcore heaviness and ending with post-rock enriched melodies. All the while, Scraps of Tape put 110% of themselves into the music, injecting the track with real emotion that could only be achieved by a reckless group of musicians who have absolutely nothing to lose. For such a young band at the time, Scraps of Tape showed incredible craft in their appreciation of composition and melody, and it was clear that this highlight would not be their last. (James Ould)
