Good afternoon. What is your purpose for visiting Turkey?
I am here to visit my friend. She lives in Istanbul.
Is this your first visit?
Yes, it is my first visit. I can’t wait to see Istanbul. I have heard it is a magical city.
How long do you plan to stay here?
Oh, I don’t know! I haven’t booked my flight back yet! I hope to stay here for two weeks at least. If I like it, maybe I will stay longer!
Where do you plan to stay?
With my friend, of course! She has a great flat in the centre of town. She lives above lots of carpet shops. We plan to do lots of shopping. I heard that everyone drinks a lot of tea in Turkey. I also drink a lot of tea.
Do you have any medical insurance?
Medical insurance? Oh, I suppose I do. I bought something about a week ago. Here, let me see if it is in my bag. Here you go.
Do you have any weapons or drugs on your possession?
Weapons? Do I look as if I would be carrying any weapons? That is quite ridiculous. I am a nice girl. I have never even touched a gun. And I certainly do not have any drugs. How dare you suggest it!

No, I don’t think so. I have some money, but not very much. I have nothing very valuable, except for this necklace, which my mother gave me when I was eighteen. No, I have nothing to declare.

That photo was taken years ago! I was bored with my hair. I decided to dye it. See, do you like my colour? I decided to dye it red this time. And I didn’t like wearing glasses, so I now wear contact lens. If I take them out, I wouldn’t be able to see anything! I really do have terrible eyesight.
