20. Tulsa Drone - Honcho Toro
Returning back to Tulsa Drone's No Wake, it is quite amazing how this band has escaped greater notoriety throughout its career. Aside from the praise its received on this site, Tulsa Drone is criminally underrated in the musical universe. Proof of its excellence is everywhere within its body of work, but "Honcho Toro" is as good as any. The bass dulcimer has always given this album a unique sound, and following it up with some brass is almost too heavenly to be true. At a scant three minutes and forty three seconds, it's surprising that this languid work is able to stay in the single digits, let alone under four minutes, but its impact is monumentally greater than its runtime. No Wake – the soundtrack for the everyman. (Jordan Volz)
