23. 65daysofstatic - Thrash Waltz The very first steps of the now considerably greater 65daysofstatic are still fresh in their tracks; they embraced the aesthetics of the digital world and broke the tired, old commonplace of machine sounds as de-humanized. The name of this piece is a lot more symbolic than literal, as the music bursts forward with its aggressive emotionality overthrowing any and all superficial ‘decency’, swarming with noise and signal interruptions, and breaking both our ears and our feet with its electronic, cut-up, almost hollow beats. The apocalyptic tinge still remains in the band’s sound – a sound that, regardless of its imminent-doom vision, still holds that spark that fills fans with expectation for the future. (David Murietta)
