3. Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine Explosions in the Sky unleashed a whirlwind of beautiful melodies, textures, and perfectly executed crescendos with The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place, unquestionably one of post-rock's most easily recognized albums. Having dabbled with perfection for the best part of the album, the band finally gets there on “Your Hand in Mine,” a stunning eight minutes of sheer splendor that shake up the listener and leave him with mixed emotions of love, pleasure, pain, and ultimately longing for that special someone’s hand. The message is clinically delivered, even without the aid of a single lyric, and in the last moments of the track EitS finally break down the audiences defenses and clarity is achieved like never before. This is soulful music. (Mohammed Ashraf)
