I was born
During the Soviet Union's fall.
Songs of Prince sounded around the world.
And Madonna was younger.
I was born
When Yeltsin drank much alcohol,
Tanks in Moscow were hitting the wall
Making holes right around the corner.
I grew up
In between flags, cloves and roses,
In between freedom of loud voices,
Wild choices,
But the real threats.
I grew up
Seeing towers like horrible monsters
Falling down in between helicopters.
And reporters were losing their wits.
I was raised
Feeling vibes of the radio waves,
Listening cassettes with dirty bass,
I absorbed that polluted air.
I was raised
Using mobile at any place,
Slow connection and network mates,
Realized how the web is unfair.
I was youth
But i didn't love guitar strings,
I preferred sampled sounds and blinks,
Hit the mic at the bar in the morning.
I was youth
I was flying revolting wings,
Didn't need any carrots or sticks.
And I thought any rules were so boring.
Now I'm young
And I'm trying to break the lock
To the doors of perception. The clock
Is moving as fast as a falling comet.
Now I'm young.
I don’t feel any heat or cold,
Don't regret the soviets fall.
I was born at the different moment.
***
I was born without chains,
But since that time the world has changed.
That’s the only thing remains –
To take a place in common chase.
