This song tells the story of a Svan woman named Irinola-Marinola whose father betrothed her to be married against her will to a man she did not love. She had another sweetheart, and one day she stole away and secretly married him. Knowing this would be shameful to her family when they discovered the truth, she left at night without telling anyone, and went out in the cold without a dress or anything to cover her head. Kavkasia first heard this song performed by Romeo Pirtskhelani’s family when the group traveled to Svaneti in 1995.
