(c) Angel Witch was first formed in England in 1978 by Kevin Heybourne after the break-up of his band Lucifer. Angel Witch is one of the original NWOBHM bands and became a major influence on metal throughout the 1980's as well as the 1990's, maybe even today. The original Angel Witch line up was Kevin Heybourne on vocals and guitar, Kevin Riddles on bass and Dave Hogg on drums. Angel Witch appeared on the Friday Rock Show in 1978. Angel Witch song "Bapphomet", ended up on the EMI compilation "Metal For Muthas".
Angel Witch often shared the bill with Iron Maiden during the early days of the NWoBHM, and EMI signed both bands. Angel Witch performed at the Heavy Metal Mayhem Barn Dance with Saxon, Motorhead, Girlschool, Vardis, and Mythra.
=LYRICS= [K. Heybourne]
Nobody else can see you the same way as myself Fly high and touch the sky, you're the angel I adore If only you could feel for me that I feel for you Why do you ignore me, angel, why can't I go with you
You're an angel witch, you're an angel witch You're an angel witch, you're an angel witch
The more love I feel for you, the more you fade away Why can't you come and love me, do I have to stay this way I'm going to go insane if nothing happens soon I look out at the night to see your shadow by the moon
You're an angel witch, you're angel witch You're an angel witch, you're angel witch
Walk through the forest, I can feel that you're there Why do you run away? I'd never hurt you, I'd never hurt you That'd be the last thing that I'd do
You're an angel witch, you're an angel witch You're an angel witch, you're an angel witch
