AM WOMAN Written by Pauline Drossart (Purjus Publishing/ASCAP)
I need to share a story with you. It’s about a little girl who was lost. She was beautiful. Her family was broken, she knew had to make it. Little girl did things to get approval, applause, anything to get your love and attention. She could not see that, being her Self was all she needed to be. Until woman came along, sat her down on her lap and talked to her.
I am woman, Free as can be. I am woman, I love you endlessly. I am woman, Children I will lead.
Woman trusts, she knows her heart and listens to it. The past is her teacher, the present a gift. She doesn’t try to fit into those jeans that are too tight on her womanly hips. Hips she swings with confidence: Feel the rhythm of her drum, the rhythm of her bliss.
She nourishes herself with the fruits from the earth. Appreciates her body beautiful. Like the rain she gets wet, fueled by the creative force within her, giving birth daily to new creations. She’s not afraid to reveal her darkness, it led her to the light.
