1986 - The Rope - 09 - The Lingering Flicker (8-12kj)
Black Tape for a Blue Girl 1986 - The rope 9. The Lingering Flicker [violin - Lara Radford; Electronics - Sam Rosenthal]
the lingering flicker, she pulled tightly against her knees and rolled onto the floor in a tightened ball, her skin outlined by the darkened room, she rest her face on the hard wood floor and wondered what it would be like to be dead, the beautiful girl on the news, who never made it out, who had a wonderful life and a great lover, she wondered what it would be like to be dead, to never have to look at yourself again, or cry because life never goes the way you hoped, to be sealed and forgotten, to be someone? memory or the lingering flicker of someone? bad dream, to never have to feel again, or worry, or cry. to see who comes to visit your grave and watch all the friends at your funeral, your pains would all be equalized, your tears would finally dry. but she cried in her ball on the floor in the dirt, because she would never die. she would just break down in the dark, and drag herself back to face another empty day. another passage of time, another search for something to make it real.
