11. the floor was hard but home, she hated herself for doing this, she wished she could meld into a permanent ball for everyone to kick, she wished she was her master’s faithful dog who always returned for more, she wished that little kids would chase her, and pull her tail and laugh at her — and then she could run out in the street and die before their eyes, she wanted to give someone her pain, but she could never be that black, she could never do the things that she really wanted to do. she could only feel them inside, and when she was unsatisfied, she could never blame, the floor was hard but home, it felt good as it scraped and scratched her, asking for nothing but inflicting nonetheless, it was strong, it was sure, it had no questions, and she pulled tighter, and tried to roll away forever.
