A shine-eye girl is a girl that uses emotion to get what she wants and is never satisfied, i.e. her eyes shine because her eyes are often widened and sometimes tearful.

'Push-mouth Lorna' is a generic name for a sour-faced girl - the trouble-making friend. In this case she is being criticised because she didn't even fix (or 'spread') her bed sheets before she went out - something a Jamaican lady is told always to do from childhood.
