I prayed I'd die before I got old
in my sleep i tore out my iv
and bled all over my bedsheet

the walls were a pretty peppermint green
when my family came to visit me
but that didn't make me happy

six in a hay barn I lost my soul
and could barely breathe on the bus ride home
the steroids they used to medicate
made my body hurt and I gained weight

as I kid I felt so ugly
I didn't know what the doctor had done to me
and to this day I curse this body

I read that steroids can trigger bipolar disorder when you're young
and now I know why I cannot have fun
I know why I can not feel loved
I know why I miss being young
