Durge Smrtaa Harasi Bhiitim-Ashessa-Jantoh
Svasthaih Smrtaa Matim-Atiiva Shubhaam Dadaasi |
Daaridraya-Duhkha-Bhaya-Haarinni Kaa Tvad-Anyaa
Sarvo[a-U]pakaara-Karannaaya Sada-[A]arda Cittaa ||2||

Meaning:
2.1: (Salutations to You, O Jagadamba) O Devi Durga, whoever Remembers You with Devotion, You Remove the very Root of their Fear.
2.2: Whoever Meditates on You as being present within their own Hearts, with Extreme Devotion, You Bestow (i.e. Reveal to them) Your Auspicious Nature (which is beyond description),
2.3: O Mother, Apart from You, Who Else can Destroy Poverty, Sorrow and Fear from our Lives? (which appears to be a never-ending cycle),
2.4: Your Heart is Always Full of Compassion to Render All sorts of Help to Your Devotees.

दुर्गे स्मृता हरसि भीतिमशेषजन्तोः स्वस्थैः स्मृता मतिमतीव शुभां ददासि ।
दारिद्र्यदुःखभयहारिणि का त्वदन्या सर्वोपकारकरणाय सदाऽऽर्द्रचित्ता ॥ २॥

О, Дурга, в тех, кто помнит о Тебе, ты устраняешь все без остатка страхи живых существ, рьяно почитающим [Тебя] с лёгкостью благоденствие даруешь,
Беды, несчастья и страхи кто устранит кроме тебя? [Ты] – любую помощь оказывающая, всегда благосклонная к думающим о Тебе.

Meaning:Salutations again and again to the Devi (Goddess) who resides
in all beings in the form of activity.

kaatyaa-naaya = She who was born in the hermitage
of Sage Kathyayana
vid-dhamahe = the omnipresent one
kanya-kumari = the one who is the \"princess\" among \"girls\"
dheemahi = give us the strength to meditate
tanno = we bow before you
durge = Goddess Durga, the inaccessible one
pracho-dayaat = give us blessings and inspiration

The three sandhyas (transition periods) of dawn, noon and dusk are appropriate times to chant the Durga Gayatri. According to tradition, 108 repetitions are recommended during each period of chanting. However, if one is constrained by time, this number may be reduced to any multiple of 9 (9, 18, etc.).
