In the month that sees the 100th anniversary of his death, Donald Macleod explores the life and career of the virtuoso pianist and composer Alexander Scriabin (1870-1915) "one of the most enigmatic and controversial and artistic personalities of all time". In Monday's episode, Donald focuses on Scriabin's years as a student, his first love (aged just 15), and the beginnings of his association with the timber magnate Mitrofan Belaieff who helped launch his musical career.
