Daniel Bortz has been frequenting clubs since the mid-90s, but you’d expect nothing less from a guy born in Berlin in 1981. Based in the Bavarian city of Augsburg, he’s been making beats for the last 13 years drawing on crate digging sensibilities and a wildly eclectic ear. “While being a music producer in Augsburg has its challenges, I don’t just want to play for those in the know.” Bortz explains, “I like appealing to a mixed audience that doesn‘t mind if I play Whitney Houston or Phoenix now and then”. While there’s no Whitney here this is a fitting encapsulation of his wide-reaching and impeccable taste.
