According to Fenriz, he was the one who performed the "female" vocals.
Goatlord is a rehearsal tape recorded between Soulside Journey and A Blaze in the Northern Sky, containing songs which were scrapped after the band changed direction from being Death Metal to Black Metal. The vocals were added in 1994.
Although Fenriz claims the album was released in 1997 (in the liner-notes on the LP version released in 2002), it was actually most likely released late in 1996.
The first LP release of this album came out in 2002.
Reissued in the U.S. through The End Records in 2006.
Re-released on June 27th, 2011 by Peaceville Records on black 180 gram vinyl limited to 2000 copies. It features totally new artwork.
Re-released on July 25th, 2011 by Peaceville Records on double-CD with totally new artwork and one bonus track: "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" (1991 version). The second CD brings the whole album with commentary by Fenriz and Nocturno Culto.
