Recorded December 3, 1940, in Northrup Auditorium, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Issued in 1942 as Columbia Masterworks set M-503 (records 11761-D through 11765-D), and in automatic sequence as set MM-503 (records 11766-D through 11770-D). Issued in Australia as Columbia LOX 778 through LOX 782. Reissued on LP, c. 1953, as Columbia Entre RL-3025. The side and matrix information:

*The gap in matrix numbers here (XCO 29311 through XCO 29314) belongs to recordings of Richard Strauss' Waltzes from "Der Rosenkavalier" and Tchaikovsky's Marche Slave, made on December 14, 1940, by the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Artur Rodzinski. Mitropoulos' further recordings for the same day as the Schumann symphony, December 3, 1940, are of Mozart's Entr'actes from "Thamos" (XCO 29336/7 - a recording I have uploaded elsewhere) and Grieg's Two Elegiac Melodies (XCO 29338/9).
