Well there are plenty of little things that I could give to you
I've got the money and the wrapping too
but none of them would ever mean this much to me

It started a couple years after I'd play no more
the lessons sucked and all the tunes were a bore
that's when I took it on myself
to put a little of my self
into the tunes that I would play

Well it started with those four chords I'd learned from Heart and Soul
I played one note and I was on a roll
I worked so hard and yeah I thought so much
about what I'd wanna hear

And I think sometime within that night
underneath my south park light
I felt the feeling of a truth I've known before

I didn't wanna be another guy
who sees the world through someone else's eye
I wanted to be the one who takes you there

Through movies, music, and the stories that are inside
I wanna hear how they laughed, how they cheered, and they cried
I just wanted to be a little bit something more

And it's not the fact that I was playing a song
It was the fact that I was playing my song
Beethoven's tunes took too long to learn
but boy could that little Fera kid burn

I couldn't sing, no I could barely shout
But I knew someday I'd work it all out
and now I feel like I've worked it out...somewhat

and I'm not sure
if tomorrow they'll be knockin' at my door
but arm the troops and I'll prepare for the war
this little tune I played just taught me so much
this little tune I played just took away my crutch
this little tune I played became a part of me
This stupid tune's a part of me

So after a few times through
I took this tune so shiney and new
My mind and heart swayed
my goosebumps, they stayed
and I played
little Dom played

But that's not what I heard
no that's not what I heard
when I played my first tune this is what I heard
little Dom heard

But up until now I've never had a reason good enough
to use this tune without it just being fluff
this stupid tune is filled with my history
this stupid tune is such a big part of me
this tune's the start, the start of my dreams being true
this tune's important to me and I wanna give this tune to you
