Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 in Kentucky (USA). He worked on the farm of his father. Later on, he became a SUCCESSFUL LAWYER, and was GRADUALLY DRAWN TO politics. In the USA, the SLAVERY system was practiced in that period. The white men owned large farms in the southern states, Blacks were brought from Africa to work on these farms, They were kept as slaves. The people of northern states were against that practice of slavery and wanted to ABOLISH it, but the southern states disagreed to the statement. Abraham Lincoln was the one who MANAGED to solve the problem of slavery and made all slaves free. That’s how he became an OUTSTANDING politician in the history of the US.
