“Secret Thirteen Mix 123” is a mind-blowing audio voyage that gradually leaves monotonous reality in shadows of the subconsciousness with all its paradoxical discoveries. EVOL is projecting a cutting edge dimension of phenomenally pulsating complex sounds that penetrate all known human senses bringing new eccentric experiences. With all the smallest sound particles constantly coming from unexpected angles and its manoeuvrable radiation the listener could feel that EVOL indirectly re-installs the perception of what inventive and futuristic music is in general. It is like an ongoing musical research, which each time reveals new data about the whole musical structure, which is infinite and mutating with every natural upgrade after observer press “play” button. Sol Lewitt’s monumental and abstract works could be a close visual expression of what EVOL has produced, because both artists’ last touches make their creations autonomous, present different concepts and ideas like a super artificial intelligence.
The mix was glued by using their studio test material, discarded edits, cuts from live performances and assorted scraps from EVOL’s archives ranging from 2009 to 2014. All the recordings are original, previously unreleased. The whole continuous magnetised piece was made by using split channel technique in Alloa (Scotland) and Barcelona (Spain)
