2010 is again turning out to be a massive year for Viper Recordings. First release of 2010, the Halo EP by DC Breaks, repeated the success of last years Acts OF Mad Men LP in being hammered across clubs and radio alike. For this, the labels next release, some of Viper Recordings newer signings in the shape of Camo & Krooked, Inside Info and Delta Heavy, line up alongside label boss Futurebound for Parts 3 + 4 of The Headroom EP. With Headroom parts 1 & 2 featuring classics such as Brookes Brothers Crackdown and the Original Sin remix of J Majik & Wickamans Fleshwound the standard for the next Headroom installments was set incredibly high. However, with Andy C, DJ Hype, The Brookes Brothers, J Majik & Wickaman, High Contrast, Culture Shock, Ed Rush & Optical, Cyantific, Simon Bassline Smith, Matrix & Futurebound, Camo & Krooked and Danny Byrd all making this new EP a guaranteed part of their sets over recent weeks, theres no doubt its going to be another huge release for the label. The impressive run of releases on Viper Recordings continues with the new Furlonge single This Love (currently getting rinsed in the clubs by those lucky enough to have it on dub), new EPs from Camo & Krooked and ShockOne and the new Viper album DnB Summer Slammers 2010 all set for release on Viper in 2010. Delta Heavy Abort Abort follows on from the duos debut release Galaxy which featured on last years Viper Recordings Acts Of Mad Men LP and was supported by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 when Acts Of Mad Men was made album of the week. The duo have also recently remixed VV Brown and Crystal Fighters, the latter of which found its way, alongside Chase & Status and Plan B, onto the soundtrack to recent film Harry Brown (staring Michael Caine). On the heavier dancefloors, this has been un-missable in recent weeks, with multiple rewinds from the biggest names in drum and bass, a bassline killer and no mistake. Matrix & Futurebound feat. Sylo The Edge (Futurebounds 2010 VIP) Matrix & Futurebound are a duo who need no introduction, the roll call of labels they have released on (including Breakbeat Kaos, Moving Shadow, Virus, Ram, Hospital, Infrared and their own labels Metro and Viper) says everything you need to know. Currently in the studio working on a raft of new tracks for the new Matrix & Futurebound album (due late 2010), Viper label boss Futurebound has found time for this update of the stone cold classic cut The Edge (feat. Bad Company collaborator Sylo) from 2007s Matrix & Futurebound Universal Truth LP, beefing up the original track to give a heavier club punch for 2010 while maintaining the vibes which made the original such a favourite from the Universal Truth album. Inside Info feat. Sw@t Awkward For every new producer in drum and bass, Viper is one of a very small selection of labels that everyone wants to get a release on. Having previously released on DJ Hypes Ganja-Tek label, Spors Lifted label and Viper sister label Viper VIP, this is Inside Infos debut for Viper. Once again Viper introduces the freshest new talent, and with Awkward, Inside Infos first track for the label couldnt be stronger. Having had one of the first copies off the press, Ed Rush & Optical have led the charge with Awkward, its full on tech stomp and insane breakdowns leading to a stampede to Futurebounds door for an upfront cut of the track. Futurebound Vs Camo & Crooked Chic Collaborations dont come much more exciting than this. Futurebound has for a number of years played the worlds biggest drum and bass events (all the way from Fabric in London to Womb in Tokyo and Pirate Station in St. Petersburg) and released classic tune after classic tune, including memorable collaborations with the likes of Brookes Brothers, Matrix, Digital and J Majik & Wickaman. Futurebounds unique production style and experience of dancefloors all over the world is fused together with the sound of newcomers Camo & Krook
