The talking at the start is a segment from the videotaped confession of Dennis Rader, aka 'The BTK killer' (Bind, Torture, Kill), an American serial killer who murdered 10 people between 1974 and 1991, and was eventually caught after he started taunting the police over a decade later. He is describing his first murder, the killing of the entire Otero family. When he went on hiatus as a serial killer, Rader got a job as a local community warden, and used that position to victimise and terrorise women.
