Het beukenbos ons haar vredige koelte verschaft
Dan lopen wij door de Gelderse bossen
Genieten we van haar oneindige pracht

Als dan de machtige eiken hun blad'ren doen vallen
Een kille mist de donkere wouden bekroond
Dan lopen wij over Veluwse velden
Waar sterrenpracht onze wegen toont

Als dan kou en vorst weer de heide doet kraken
En winterijs zich in onze baarden vormt
Dan lopen wij door de Gelderse bossen
Waar een ijzige wind het leven bestormt

Maar dan zal de zon weer het ijs doen verdwijnen
En sierlijke berken dragen het jong-ontsproten groen
Dan lopen wij over Veluwse velden
Waar d'aarde en het leven zich van de ijzige koude ontdoen

Enjoying her infinite beauty

When then the powerful oaks let their leaves fall
A chilling mist crowns the dark forests
Then we will walk over Veluwse* fields
Where star splendor shows us our paths

When then the cold and frost makes the heathlands crackle
And winterice forms in our beards
Then we will walk through the Gelderse forests
Where a freezing wind besieges life

But then the sun shall make the ice disappear again
And graceful birches carry young-sprouted green
Then we will walk over Veluwse fields
Where the earth and life discard the icy cold

*Veluwse = of the Veluwen, a woodland area in Gelderland
