The familiar ring of my alarm clock
waking me up at half past 8

till I assess my mind's state

keeping the demons at bay
An endless stream of traffic lights
as I submerge myself into the fray

My ear drums captured the sound of your laughter
as you were chatting away
The light illuminated in your eyes
always gave me hope for a better day
What if I came to you that night
instead of being locked in my selfish ways?
Maybe then I’d be beside you
falling victim to your graceful gaze

Eyes turned to the sky
I ask why is this happening to me?
If you’re truly the God they say you are
why put me through this misery?
The people stirring around
prancing on with their fancy lives
As I am stuck standing here
a stone statue with shattered eyes

My tears betray me
as they flood the trench beneath my feet
Buried beneath my covers
I can’t sleep and I can’t eat

My heart is empty

Kneeling beside your grave

messengers of the light

a most mysterious sight occurs
A moon flower blossoms
as my life joins with hers

her spirit lies
