morning comes easy and the days they move fast and tomorrow's not takin' no for an answer and she's just a girl with her feet planted firmly with concrete lead toes and a rattling chain
the birds i'm crazy and the wind says i'm crazy and my head says i'm crazy for standing so static and i want to follow but my laces are tied all wrong my mind moves in motion slow my tongue's of no use
and jenny stands on her toes at the window and stares at the cars driving by on their way yeah jenny swears that she'll follow them someday but someday's a long way away from today
she tiptoes 'round corners and eyes the reflection of questions from yesterday for some reasons why and she turns her gaze upwards to the heavens above her and is surprised when the answers don't fall from the sky
and jenny walks on a wire in a daydream and brushes the clouds and is kissed by the rain and jenny swears it'll all be real someday but someday's a long way away from today
and when the time came to move on they burned down their houses and sift through the ashes and saved all the nails
and jenny turns her grey eyes to the ocean and whispers goodbye to her gulls and her waves and jenny i swear that we'll be back someday but someday's a long way away from today
and jenny stands all alone in her ocean the waves crash around and they swallow her whole she knows that there is no place for tomorrow she takes a deep breath and lets it all go
