*I wanted to write a theme song about love and war, and include elements of the ancient world and modern culture. I came up with Confess. It's a visual metaphor I had in my head about what it's like to make yourself vulnerable to someone, only to be rejected.*
Heavy is the metal, heavy is the leather Ready in this armor, constricting my heart Helmet in my hand, greaves around my thighs Rumors of destruction, here to say goodbye
Dreams of glory fading, Dreams of love thrown down This is the spear you throw into me, I fall to my knees This is the arrow you drove into me, as I confessed my love
Steel plates upon my chest can’t stop the bleeding Despite all the training for this moment in time Night is come, a moonlit knife embraces my side Vision dim, closing in, I see through glazing eyes Dreams of glory fading, Dreams of love thrown down
This is the spear you throw into me, I fall to my knees This is the arrow you drove into me, as I confessed my love
This is the conquest, a bloodless heart still beating This is the triumph, strangled lungs still breathing This is the victory, the silent voice still screaming This is reality, blackened wounds still healing
