I = Interviewer, M = Mr Wilkins 1 I: Can I start off by asking you, er, Mr Wilkins, why do you want this job? M: Well, I have just graduated from the University of Brighton, with a degree in Business with Marketing, so obviously it’s an area I’m very interested in. I: Do you have any work experience in this area? M: Well, not yet, but I’m very keen to get some. I: OK. Well, are you good at communicating with people? M: Oh yes, I think that’s a real strength of mine. When I was at university I ran a tennis club, so I had to be able to manage meetings, send out emails and so on. It was good management experience really. I: And what is your biggest weakness? M: Oh, er, well I guess I do work too hard sometimes …
I = Interviewer, M = Miss Southall 2 I: Miss Southall, why do you want this job? M: Well, I think it fits very well with my skills and experience. I’ve worked in marketing for a couple of years now and I think I’m ready to move on to a more challenging job. I: What skills do you have that are relevant to this job? M: Well, I’m very organised and I can work very well on my own. I: Do you work well with others? M: Oh yes, but if I’m honest, I do prefer working on my own. I just get more done. I: And what qualifications do you have? M: I’ve got a degree in English and Art. It isn’t directly relevant to marketing, I know, but I like to think I’m pretty creative.
