Man's machines rip up the earth in search of "resources". Anything that can be sold, we pillage and devour. The land, the sea and the sky are just commodities. Because of our ways and inaction.
We already live in ruins.
Indigenous nations have lived in harmony with the earth for thousands of years. A total respect for all life forces. An unyielding will to defend the land.
Defend the land
We conquer the Earth with no remorse. Take what we need then move on. Dominate what's viewed as inferior. No value for life but our own.
The shriek of progress drowns out Mother Nature's screams. The growth of humanity covers her skin. The wounds are forever. The land, the sea and the sky waste away because of our ways and inaction.
We already live in ruins.
We reap the benefits of a system that commits atrocities we ourselves would never perpetrate as individuals. We are complicit in all its crimes.
Its crimes are our crimes.
The ocean's depths and old-growth forests are full of wisdom to impart. Each time we poison or clear-cut one, we lose this knowledge.
We're brought up to believe that our food comes from stores. That trees grow in parks and animals live in zoos. When we have no relationship with nature, it's easy to destroy.
Because of our ways and inaction, we already live in ruins.
Our toxins bleed into her fertile body. Unable to heal, Mother Nature is dying. Life's cycles have been broken or disrupted. Earth starts warming, a symptom of decay.
