We all know that camels live in deserts⁽¹⁾ but that didn’t used to be true. Millions of years ago they also lived in Arctic forests. Canadian scientists⁽²⁾ found the bones of what they think was a giant⁽³⁾ camel that lived in northern Canada three and a half million years ago.
The giant camel could look like the modern camel. It didn’t have a problem with snow because it had really wide feet. Scientists think the giant camel disappeared⁽⁴⁾ during the last ice age as they looked for warmer places to live.
