I know it's real hard to wake up
But if you go outside
You'll find it hard to come back in
Cause in the morning time
Before the day really begins
It's when the city is at rest, you'll find the city at its' best

When there ain't no cars a-beepin'
You can stroll along the streets and
Smile back at the rising sun
Day has just begun

Oh and I wonder
As I wander around
With my feet pushin' me further
While my mind soars off the ground
Will I ever reach where I'm going?
Or will time suck me in
And before I even know it
I'll be 40 ~
Still wandering...

City never feels this peaceful
Night time can be deceitful
Claiming to be calm
But there's always somethin' going on
Lonely voices, screaming to be heard

So I like to walk in silence
Along the side of peoples' homes
Where everyone's still sleeping
And in their dreams, they're not alone

Oh and I wonder
As I wander around
With my feet pushin' me further
While my mind soars off the ground
Will I ever reach where I'm going?
Will the world ever stop crying?
Well there really is no knowing,
But there ain't no hurt in trying...
