last night I dreamt of you, I guess sleep was on my side I couldn’t fall asleep, the moon was in my eyes we kept the fire burning late into the night we watched the freighters swimming passing by and by
we had “pachuca sunrise” playing on repeat we let the honey whiskey bring us down to sleep we hid ourselves between summer’s blossomed trees lullabied at night by songs of coastal breeze
and we chased shooting stars we got lost in the dark
after packing up you left town on a bus three days in such a place is never quite enough I made some bad decisions, and headed back up north my ship can’t find a home, I travel port to port
maybe I’ll see when the seasons bring us snow when maps and highways bring us slowly back to home if not, I’ll see you when the snow does surely melt only hoping that you feel the way I felt
we chased shooting stars we got lost in the dark
we mistook the moving cars for the waves washed up on shore
