The language is Old Provençal, and the translation is:

Almighty God, Lord, if you please,

Sleep no more, softly rouse yourself,
For in the east the star is rising,
Which brings the day, I have known it well,

Fair, sweet companion, I am in so rich a place,
I have no wish for dawn nor day,
Because the noblest who is born of mother,
I hold and embrace, so I do not care for,
