I am sitting on an ancient, native and tribal burial ground There are no signs appearent to my eyes to know this But I've been told that under this green and vibrant beautiful park A people carried their dead and loved ones to their final resting place
My ignorance provided peace of mind, here But this new information makes my soul ache, ache And I can't turn it back
Now I'm looking at these people, wondering do they know The history and sadness they trample on every day I used to come to this place on my very best of days To soak up the sun, but now I've found that heavy clouds reflect it best
My ignorance provided peace of mind, here But this new information makes my soul ache, ache And I can't turn it back
What's done is done, regrets won't change a thing And all we can do is beg for forgiveness And hope that someday the spirits will find peace
Makes me wonder about other places and cultures from the past How much is forgotten or ignored. How dare we Let others' dreams and efforts fade deep into oblivious states And what will happen when we're all gone. Will anyone remember us
My ignorance provided peace of mind, here But this new information makes my soul ache, ache And I can't turn it back repeat ...no I can't turn it back
