Crimson sunset is falling down
The ground where my days are gone.
In battle my falling was
A dignified death!
At the ocean shore
My drakkar is preparing for the last sail.
Countless trophies of war
We’re bringing on board.

As the prey incinerates with me,

Forever mine will be!

My body is entrusted to the stern –
Onwards to my worth.

In Midgard let it burn!

Excited crows above
Are circling in vain expectation of prey.
All I ever owned – with human blood
In Uppsala's Temple to Odin I gave!
