All the eastward paths I tread through glads and over fells Over mountains beneath the moon by stones carved with ancient runes In the darkest halls of stone past lands where cold winds blow Beyond all peaks of snow, beyond the sun's warm glow
Though here at journey´s end I lie In darkness buried deep Beyond all towers strong and high Beyond all mountains steep Above all shadows rides the sun And stars forever dwell I will not say the day is done Nor bid the stars farewell
All the westward I tread along fields and over fells Through elvish woods of lore by ruins destroyed in war In the brightest halls of kings, past lands where the wind sings Beyond all peaks of snow under the suns warm glow
Though here at journey´s end I lie In darkness buried deep Beyond all towers strong and high Beyond all mountains steep.
