Tibetan dance-drama (extract I) represents part of children's song and dance in praise of the life of the eighth century king Tri Srong Dcutscn who organised Buddhism in Tibet. Theme: Tibetan monks' first visit to India.
Instruments: chanen (spiked fiddle with a hollowed-out wooden neck and resonator), kencha (mandoline type instrument of six strings, and with a resonator covered in snake skin), ngah (drum), singyen (cymbals), thibu (bells) and a flute.
Performed in New Delhi by Tibetan refugees.
