There's an irony in this border Of the richer and the poorer There's an irritated protector who expects them to respect her But this goddess does not protect them She just starves and neglects them And everyone who leaves that town has never been found But our god protects us No hunger shall effect us While they all pray that they could stay in our town (repeat first two verses) But our god protects us No famine will effect us While they all pray that they could stay in our town I will try to help one person escape from that town-like prison I'll save one, them save them all If fate now pulls me from these walls And I must go embrace this call And help this goddess' reign to fall And if this goddess takes my life I'll still know what I did was right
