If you’ve made up your mind to get higher education, remember that a university or a college is a place where you can grow intellectually, philosophically and socially.
Students have the opportunity to study and carry out research with well-known scholars and scientists, to gain a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences, to get broad knowledge and intellectual flexibility.
In fact, you are encouraged to explore a variety of disciplines. Classes blend theoretical explorations with hands-on experiences. You might find yourself arguing points, sharing ideas and asking a million questions. You will learn to think on your own and handle a variety of challenges effectively in classes, in your career and in your life.
As for me I decided to enter our Dnipropetrovsk National University named after Oles Gonchar. I’m interested in computers. And as a result, I’m a first-year student of the faculty of Applied Math.
Our university was founded in 1918 and has trained a great number of skilled specialists, scientists, engineers and teachers. In September 2000 in accordance with the President's Decree Dnipropetrovsk State University received the status of a National one.
The training of students is carried out on full-time, part-time and external bases. DNU provides training in 35 fields of study and 81 specialities with the limited admission. According to the current license granted to DNU it is possible for domestic and international students to get a Bachelor’s, a Master’s and a Specialist’s degree only. Moreover students are engaged in different kinds of research.
For its undergraduate and graduate students the university provides a possibility to go abroad to study. The stuff members also work on probation in other counties. DNU supports the international exchange of teachers and scientific workers. Students are paid grants or scholarship. Some students live in hostels; others have to rent a room (if they want).
