November blessed us with the sound Of umbrella falling on the floor A thrill unknown before The twisted bones fell into joints I thanked the skies for hearing once in awhile And nothing ill was meant I couldn’t comprehend Why anyone would want to put an end To the source of light so strong It could rebuild the world And make it shine for you forevermore
Fireworks in the mornings Eternal patterns on your face
I wished to Keep it simple, page to page The skill of losing comes with age However long it will take It’s not today
A picture of a perfect place Where everyone gets what they give The purest make-believe The stories piled up high, I chose To cut my own one into stone And I put trust in you Like seas trust in the moon When other laws of nature failed to prove true Now when the tide is low November’s doused in snow The very ground we stand upon is sore
Rain dust in the evenings Unkempt beginnings Out of place
Harbours were sealed Wires were cut And I hoped on this tiny planet we could plant a seed that would shoot to the skies And tear them apart But then they broke in With them came the lies The hatred, the doubt Are we rotten inside? We faced the consequences of what we thought left no traces behind And we prayed in the night And nobody heard And that’s how it works We’re quite used to be choked Will the morning be gracious enough to let us forget
And keep it simple, page to page Forgive and let go of the rage However long it will take It’s not today
