THE EVIL TWIN

The demon was bound and overthrown
From the royal throne.
For her disease, all the disasters,
She has drawn.

And through centuries of peace
Blood did not pour.
And the odour of distress
We have forgot.

A heavy cost I've paid for quietness.
And the worst had passed me by, I guessed…
But soon will come the day, day of pain.
How then shall I stay!

You should loose all the ghosts,
All your slumbering demons,
To confess th'awful creature within.
You should tear off the palls
From your mirrors
And see the pallid face of the Dark Queen!

The demon is near, so near that I could
Feel her pernicious breath.
Whispers, I hear, deny that my soul
Could be set free.

O, whenever shall I escape
From sanity?
No more can I endure
Her being near!
