PHILOMELA
When Philomela, oh! so slim Was quavering, singing forth her hymn, A bold blackbird also sang From the bushes his notes out-rang; Then black Orpheus also cried A lullaby for me beside.
When Titan beamed his glorious rays On gossamer boughs to sing their praise. Phoebus hid among the trees Till dawn walked forth on quivering breeze; Indeed tumultuous was the throng Of birds in woods and measured their song.
