Inherit thou the eternal wine
Preserve their spell for dying seasons

Blindfolds their eyes and so mars their reasons

And sister Death waits to be born
Spreading her scythe over black hearts
Thy aging beauty stays forlorn
Tearing the strings of life apart

The barren Moon spreads her pale wings
Illuminates the autumn mist
So cold at heart, she breaks the strings
And drinks the blood from dying wrists

Black harvesters hide beyond the moon
In the field kissing her lips
And their eyes pervade the twilight gloom
The gold of the autumn mist
