Rui Da Silva follows up his ‘Full Circle EP’ with the latest offering from his own Kismet label – his ‘Almost 2014’ EP. Due for release on 1st December 2013, the new EP evinces Rui’s masterful studio skills in a concoction of robust bass-lines, palpable percussion and brooding atmospheres.

‘Feeling You (Mix 7)’ kicks things off, emerging into focus with sharpened hats and claps set above a dense and long-tailed kick. Additive percussion blooms alongside developing synth patterns before a well-treated dose of Eastern Gunn’s vocals soak the mix in spectral charm.

The ‘Mix 5’ version of Feeling You gathers momentum as the focal synth pattern boils to the surface above a steady rolling bass groove. Heavily reverberated signals and capacious sound design create a chunky and potent mix guaranteed to satisfy in the early hours.

Rui’s Mix of ‘You Don’t Know Nothing’ rumbles forth with a seismic low-end pulse set firmly under an expansive clap and lucid hats. Synth stabs grow alongside tangible percussive flickers before a plunge into simple but extremely operative rhythm.
