Salif Keita ( born August 25, 1949) - an internationally renowned author and performer of Afro- pop direction of Mali. He is known not only by the fact that he is regarded as the golden voice of Africa, but also in that it albino and the fact that he is a direct descendant of the founder of the Mali Empire , Sundyaty Keita . His royal lineage meant that in accordance with the Mali caste system , he should not have become a singer , which was considered unworthy occupation.

Keita was born in Dzholinba . Left his native city of Bamako in 1967 , where he enrolled in the State Orchestra Super Rail Band de Bamako. In 1973 Keita joined the group Les Ambassadeurs. Keita and Les Ambassadeurs fled Mali Mali during the political unrest in the mid-1970s in g.Abidzhan (Côte d'Ivoire ) and changed their name to Les Ambassadeurs Internationales. The group became known mezhduranodno in the 1970s and in 1977 Keith was awarded National Order of the President Gwen, Sekou Toure .

Keita moved to Paris in 1984 in search of more widely known . In his music, traditional West African music styles combined with the effects of Europe and the Americas , while maintaining overall Islamic style . In the works of Keith commonly used balafons, djembes, guitars , koras, organs, saxophones and music synthesizers .

In Europe, Keith was recognized as one of the African stars of world music . Nevertheless , at the beginning of the new millennium, he returned to Bamako in Mali. His first job after returning home was the album 2002 's Moffou. It was his best album in many years , and Keita built a recording studio in Bamako , where he recorded his last album , M'Bemba, released in October 2005.
