The sound of waves washing into my mind I found it on the shore beneath a dark cloud
Starry velvet skies a tear beneath my eyes So much beauty so many lies
You cannot teach the sand to count You can't teach oceans how to swim We cry for rain and then complain It's cold and wet for weeks We hold the ground and for the sun to rise we're always keen We love and hate but we accept We cannot fight the wind
Still under the skies we spread our lies And nothing changes when someone tries To save us
We walk into a trap We cannot face the fact We know deep down that It's all one big act
But will we act?
Don’t look down the fall is very deep And all the while the price we pay is steep We know now what we've always known
But we haven't grown
Take my hand till someone will heed Take a stand till our lies recede Let our voices un-condemn the world Let them hear us speak our word
