Sweep frequency from 30 to 15,000 cps. The sweep tone is recorded so that playback equipment properly equalized to RIAA recommendations will reproduce all frequencies with approximately equal power. Differences in apparent loudness of the various frequencies are due to the characteristics of the human ear. With good hi-fi equipment, the average young person should be able to hear 50 to 12,000 cps.
