Well I ain't seen no gulf stream waters but I swam in those Great Lakes I even died in the Mississippi when just the moon was awake
I felt you swimming up beside me and you grabbed me by my toes took me back before tomorrow but to where I don't know
Winter saw the lakes freeze over cracking spiderwebs of ice an extra coat to keep you warmer when just the one won't suffice
And as we crossed that solid river you held me closer by your side tightly there to keep your footing for nothing else could I provide
This all seems too much to swallow a little more than I could bear diving into pools so shallow the deeper well, well it ain't there the deeper well, well it ain't there
That water stood so deep and stoic but it could run on such a tear and now I'm back just three years later and it's like we were never there and it's like we were never there
This all seems too much to swallow a little more than I could bear diving into pools so shallow the deeper well, well it ain't there the deeper well, well it ain't there
This all seems too much to swallow a little more than I could bear diving into pools so shallow the deeper well, well it ain't there the deeper well, well it ain't there
